      <image:title>About Angie - About Angie</image:title>
<image:caption>I ran internationally from 1996 -2000 as a distance runner, culminating in the Commonwealth Games 1998. This enables me to understand the need for goal setting and striving for your own personal excellence. After taking time out to have my children, I started doing competitive triathlons and duathlons in 2011, and competing for GB in international events. For me, it’s always important to carry on challenging yourself as that is when you find out the most about who you are. I trained to become a personal trainer at 45 and have not looked back. I continue learning because you can’t stay static. I understand that everyone will need a different approach and that’s why I take a holistic approach to training. In particular I have a passion for women’s health and well being. I have recently taken up powerlifting and competed in the British and World Championships, which required new expertise. Being a beginner in a new skill helps me to coach anybody from their starting point, regardless of their skill level or experience. It’s important to me that people enjoy what they are doing, that they feel challenged at the appropriate times, and they want to keep on coming back. My ethos is that everybody should feel comfortable working at their own level in a supportive environment to achieve their own goals.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Functional Fitness - Functional Fitness</image:title>
<image:caption>In essence, functional fitness is a good blend of exercises to support day to day living, depending on what your physical needs are. I view it as an opportunity to use all of the techniques I find are beneficial for strength and fitness, in one session. So, a typical session would incorporate dumb bells, barbells, stepper, bodyweight exercises, suspension equipment, kettlebells, ropes, swiss balls, bosu, weighted clubs and much more. Don’t worry if you are a beginner though, I will give you guidance throughout the sessions on your technique, and we will take things one step at a time. Even with the regulars, I am always double checking good form for safety and to make sure you get your optimum workout. Substitution exercises are constantly being given, because we all come with our own physical requirements, and let's face it, not one shoe fits all. For an effective and comprehensive workout, this gives you exactly what you need, and it’s never boring with such a varied amount of equipment to use.</image:caption>

<image:title>ABC StrongHer Lifting Club - ABC StrongHer Lifting Club</image:title>
<image:caption>It is important to make sure that our technique when using equipment is safe and effective right from the start. Thereafter, we can work on perfecting those techniques, which I know from personal experience can take a while as it’s an ongoing process. This process is a lot of fun though, as you get to track your strength gains and see how you’ve improved. This has gradually morphed into a women’s only lifting club called ‘StrongHer’, which takes place on a Friday morning at 9.30am. This is open to any woman who wants to challenge herself and finds she has a love of lifting! There are myriad benefits to lifting as a female, both physical and emotional, ranging from increased bone strength to general endorphins being released. In this session you can lift to simply get fitter and stronger but there is the option to enter competitions further down the line.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Massage - Massage</image:title>
<image:caption>The art of massage has been practised for centuries since the earliest civilisations, and has long been recognised for its healing benefits. These are numerous benefits to massage including aiding relaxation, boosting metabolism, removing toxins, improving circulation, getting rid of tension, assisting posture, aiding restful sleep, boosting your mood and helping improve mental health. I qualified in therapeutic massage in 2004 and added sports massage onto that a few years later. I come to your house so you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home! The sports massage benefits those who are more active or competitive athletes, or simply just want a deeper massage. This type of massage helps to increase range of movement, improves flexibility, decreases muscle tension, decreases nerve excitability (generally relaxes the nerves), decreases muscle spasms and aids more restful sleep. An hours massage costs £40 -£50 depending on where you live.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Reflexology - Reflexology</image:title>
<image:caption>Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to certain reflexology points on the feet, hands, and ears. It's based on a theory that these reflex points are connected to certain organs and body systems via energy pathways. Sometimes these pathways become blocked or congested. So, by applying the right amount of pressure to stimulate the reflex points, the pathways start to clear and this brings about homeostasis or balance. I come to your house so you don’t need to leave the comfort of your own home. A reflexologist cannot diagnose a problem, but we can certainly feel when a system is out of balance, so can assist your body in bringing it back into harmony. An hours treatment costs £40-£50 depending on where you live.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am qualified in pre and post natal exercises and nutrition. It is very important to adapt how we exercise through each trimester to keep mother and baby safe. Our nutritional intake is also of the utmost importance during pregnancy to maintain optimum health. This service can be offered on a 1-2-1 basis. Being a mum myself I understand what it feels like to train through a pregnancy and how you need to adapt as you go along. I also understand the need to have a safe and structured return to full training after the birth.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Nutrional Support - Nutritional Support</image:title>
<image:caption>I understand that our nutrition can be an absolute minefield, as we are constantly being bombarded with all kinds of diets and eating plans, trends of what is supposedly good or not good for us and it can be confusing. In the first instance I am qualified to offer nutritional support to a client, so you get an understanding of balancing food groups, recognising foods that are calorie dense but not particularly high in nutritional value, or similarly those foods that are packed full of nutritional goodness, gaining knowledge of what macro and micro nutrients are, and just simply being able to take more control over what you consume and keeping track of calories in and out. It sometimes isn’t as simple as calories in and out though. If you have IBS, or are menopausal for instance, this can have quite a profound effect on the gut and our whole wellbeing. Coming from a place of experience, I can offer assistance with IBS, vegetarianism, veganism and menopause, and changing our eating habits to optimise our health and wellbeing. Ultimately, once you have gained the right knowledge you can eat intuitively and this can change your whole relationship to food.</image:caption>

The workout environment is about so much more than JUST the physical workout, the companionship and banter is so important too. The physical and emotional goes hand in hand. Boot camps run on a Monday morning at 9.30am – 10.30am Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6.30pm – 7.30pm Saturday morning at 7.45am All boot camps sessions are £7 PAYG or membership options are available also.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Some people prefer an ‘all eyes on them’ approach so they work harder than they would do in amongst a boot camp environment. Some clients can’t make the times for boot camps, some just prefer a 1-2-1 situation, and some simply have a few 1-2-1 sessions so they can learn the techniques ready for slotting right into boot camp. Small group sessions are also a popular choice too if the boot camp sessions don't work for a busy schedule or you just simply love to work out with your besties. Whatever works best for you, I can accommodate those needs. Afterall, it’s your workout and it has to be enjoyable and the right fit. Prices for a 1 hour 1-2-1 session is £30 2 people sharing a session is £35 Small group sessions are negotiated depending on numbers. Please get in contact for more information</image:caption>
